Vector graphics programs such as CorelDraw and Adobe Illustrator may be used to setup files for cutting or engraving. Below you fill find a link for a CDR file that illustrates the basic setup.
CDR Sample File:

Setup Guidelines for CDR or AI files
- Layers: place all engraved items on a single layer and create a layer for each material
- Grain orientation: materials that have a grain, such as wood, are assumed to be oriented with the grain horizontal. If parts need to be cut with grain oriented in another direction, please indicate that on the drawing
- Notes: the use of notes is highly encouraged if you feel that any clarification of your design intent is needed. We recommend that the notes are placed on a layer titled "notes" - we will not cut or engrave a notes layer
- Line weight for engraving: line weight for items to be cut should be set to "hairline"
- Line weight for engraving: Laser Edge Cutters recommend at least 0.5 pt for engraving for visibility
- Fill: items with a fill will be engraved
