Whether you are starting with a hand drawn sketch, a printed line drawing, a photo, an illustration, or a full blown CAD file, this section will provide you with the information that you need to get your custom laser cutting project setup right.

We work with many file types, split into two groups - files for cutting and files for engraving.

Vector files are used for laser cutting.

  • DXF
  • DWG
  • CDR - CorelDraw up through version 14
  • AI - Adobe Illustrator
  • PDF - Vector format PDF

Raster files are used for laser engraving.

  • Images - JPG, GIF, BMP, etc...
  • PS - Adobe Photoshop
  • CDR - CorelDraw up through version 14
  • AI - Adobe Illustrator
  • PDF - Raster format PDF

If you are working from hand drawings or plans, these drawings will be scanned for laser engraving, or scanned and converted to vector graphics for laser cutting.  Because of the highly custom nature of sketch and line drawing work, please send us an email with a description of your project and we will work with you through the quote and ordering process.

Please use the sub-categories in the menu to the left, or the links below to learn more depending on what inputs you have to work with.

Testimonials

"Over thanksgiving and Christmas last year you cut some parts for me for a wooden clock project - I just thought I would let you know how that turned out...  it's not 100% complete, but it's running.  Below is a link to a
video.  http://www.youtube.com/user/sound396#p/a/u/1/A3fc3GiaT0Y

I hope your business does well and sticks around.  This is exactly the kind of project that requires extremely high quality cutting or it simply would not work.  Imagine if one of the hundreds of gear teeth was a little burned and slightly too small – the gears would bind or skip and the clock wouldn’t run correctly.  I would not have been able to build this without the confidence that your cutting would be accurate.

Thanks for all your help with the project!"
